Originally from Chicago, IL, Dwelvan developed a love for music & dance at a young age performing at school, in church, and in community choirs and productions. In high school Dwelvan had the pleasure of traveling to and singing classical music in Italy as well as Germany, Austria and most of Eastern Europe. These experiences informed Dwelvan that performing was his destiny. Since earning his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Millikin University, Mr. David has garnered rave reviews for his portrayal of The Crab Man in the 1st National Tour of The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, as well as his roles in other shows like Ain't Misbehavin', Sister Act, Sweeney Todd, The Wiz, Caroline, or Change, Songs for a New World, & Cats.  Throughout his career Dwelvan has been blessed to originate many roles including The Ferryman in Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty's Knoxville, Guardsman in the Off-Broadway existentialist smash Emojiland, Billy Bones & Job Anderson in Marc Robin's Treasure Island: A Musical Adventure as well as Thomas A. Dorsey in the Bailiwick Chicago's Georgia Tom: The Father of Gospel Music. On-Camera, Mr. David had a recurring role as the murderous Odipo in season 2 of SyFy's Happy! and has been seen in episodes of Russian Doll, Gravesend, and Law & Order SVU among others.  Award nominations include Black Theater Alliance, Joseph Jefferson, Broadway World, & St Louis Theatre Critics. Dwelvan is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the American Guild of Musical Artists. He stands six-feet-four inches tall and hopes to serve as a source of inspiration for the next generation.
